Lantoon was launched in 2020, the brainchild of our inspiring and passionate Content Head, Ms Smitha Sundararajan. With years of experience in language training, Smitha realised that to speak a new language and interact like a native, a new approach was required.
Mr Venkatesh Rangachari heads our Business Development, helping Lantoon spread its wings across the world.
Lantoon arose out of the need to not only make language learning simple, but also to ensure that the learners are able to use the language practically. When we learnt our first language (mother tongue) so easily, why should it be any harder to learn a new language?
Second and third languages taught at school level help the learner read and write, but not speak as easily. This is because of the traditional method of teaching grammar first, words next and then phrases but Fluency is achieved by Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (exactly in that order). This is the gap Lantoon aims to bridge by using a modern, science-backed approach.
Lantoon approaches language learning holistically, helping the learner learn through a language they are most comfortable in, and in the method that appeals to them the best.
